{"id":1951,"date":"2013-07-08T13:45:33","date_gmt":"2013-07-08T18:45:33","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.northmyrtlebeachgolf.com\/thegolfblog\/?p=1951"},"modified":"2022-10-05T13:18:03","modified_gmt":"2022-10-05T17:18:03","slug":"double-teeing-making-sure-you-get-the-tee-times-you-want","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.northmyrtlebeachgolf.com\/thegolfblog\/2013\/07\/double-teeing-making-sure-you-get-the-tee-times-you-want\/","title":{"rendered":"Double-Teeing &#038; Making Sure You get the Tee-Times YOU Want"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.northmyrtlebeachgolf.com\/thegolfblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/07\/golferswing-e1373143222453.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-large wp-image-1958\" alt=\"Golfer Swing - DoubleTee\" src=\"https:\/\/www.northmyrtlebeachgolf.com\/thegolfblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/07\/golferswing-e1373143222453-575x383.jpg\" width=\"575\" height=\"383\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.northmyrtlebeachgolf.com\/thegolfblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/07\/golferswing-e1373143222453-575x383.jpg 575w, https:\/\/www.northmyrtlebeachgolf.com\/thegolfblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/07\/golferswing-e1373143222453-300x199.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.northmyrtlebeachgolf.com\/thegolfblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/07\/golferswing-e1373143222453.jpg 800w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 575px) 100vw, 575px\" \/><\/a><br \/>\nDid you know that golf courses all over the world set up their tee sheets differently?<\/p>\n<p>Many factors weigh into the process, but here in Myrtle Beach, the majority of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.northmyrtlebeachgolf.com\/myrtle-beach-golf-courses.html\">18-hole courses<\/a> do what is called &#8220;<strong>double teeing<\/strong>.&#8221; &nbsp;This is the process where the courses set up their tee sheets to allow golfers to tee off the 1st and 10th tees. &nbsp;Depending on daylight savings time, courses primarily start their tee sheets between 7:00-7:30 a.m. and allow play until 9:00-9:30 a.m. and then resume play again at 12:00-12:30 p.m. until 2:00-2:30 p.m. &nbsp;<strong>This allows the courses to maximize their play in the morning when golfers usually tend to want to play<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>If these courses did not do this, then there could be a 2 to 3-hour gap on the back nine with no play. &nbsp;This helps the course allow for a higher revenue stream as well as<strong> allow more open tee times for replays<\/strong>, but at the same time can hurt the golfer. &nbsp;The golf course is designed to be played from the 1st tee to the 18th tee. &nbsp;<strong>If you would like to play the course the way the architect designed it, make sure you ask what hole you are starting on when you book your tee time.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.northmyrtlebeachgolf.com\/thegolfblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/07\/golfballteeandsky.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-full wp-image-1957\" alt=\"\" src=\"https:\/\/www.northmyrtlebeachgolf.com\/thegolfblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/07\/golfballteeandsky.jpg\" width=\"296\" height=\"170\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Many golfers like playing around 10 a.m., but this does not fit into many of the courses tee sheets. &nbsp;However, most courses that offer 27 holes such as&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.northmyrtlebeachgolf.com\/golf-courses\/brunswick.html\">Brunswick Plantation<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.northmyrtlebeachgolf.com\/golf-courses\/wild-wing.html\">Wild Wing<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.northmyrtlebeachgolf.com\/golf-courses\/heather-glen.html\">Heather Glen<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.northmyrtlebeachgolf.com\/golf-courses\/arrowhead.html\">Arrowhead<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.northmyrtlebeachgolf.com\/golf-courses\/thistle.html\">Thistle<\/a>, and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.northmyrtlebeachgolf.com\/golf-courses\/waterway-hills.html\">Waterway Hills<\/a> &nbsp;do whats called &#8220;<strong>triple -teeing<\/strong>&#8221; or &nbsp;&#8220;<strong>double-single-double-teeing<\/strong>.&#8221; This allows the golfers that enjoy sleeping in a bit the later or mid-morning times.<\/p>\n<p>Courses in Myrtle Beach during the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.myrtlebeachsnowbirds.com\/winter-golfing.php\">Winter season<\/a> often do not get much play. Some of these courses, due to lack of daylight hours, will &#8220;single tee.&#8221; &nbsp;This allows&nbsp;the maintenance department to get ahead of the players, while at the same time, have workers on the back nine of the course perform daily maintenance to prevent player interruptions.<\/p>\n<p>Golfers, just make sure you speak with your Golf Director and they will be happy to provide you with the closest tee time as possible to what you originally requested.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>How can I get the tee time I want, on the day I want, on the course I want?
