Myrtle Beach Golf

One of the reasons that golfing is so popular in South Carolina is the Myrtle Beach weather. Golfers can rely on nearly perfect weather year round, and the near constant ocean breeze will cool you off even in the hottest of of days.

Any month is a good month to golf in the Myrtle Beach area. January is generally the coldest month in South Carolina; however the winter weather is quite mild. To avoid the brisk air in the morning, golfers simply tee off during the afternoon. Many avid golfers find the brisk weather of winter the perfect opportunity to shoot 9 holes in the morning and 18 in the afternoon when it is warmer, it is all up to personal preference. But of course, watch out for frost delays during the cold months.

Spring and fall are the most popular times to golf because the Myrtle Beach weather is so agreeable. Golfers can enjoy a round in the early morning hours, visit the beach, and return for another round in the evening if so inclined.

Summer can become quite hot in the afternoon. Tee times should be scheduled for early morning hours if you do not enjoy the heat. Afterwards you can enjoy your day lounging at the beach or visiting one of the many indoor attractions. July, August and September are the hottest months in Myrtle Beach. 

As a southern Atlantic state, South Carolina is subject to tropical storms and hurricanes. Hurricane season lasts from June 1 until November 30 of each year, with the peak season being in August and September. Do not let this deter you from enjoying a golf outing or vacation however, tropical storms and hurricanes have several days advance notice and you can leave the area if needed.

As an overview, Myrtle Beach weather is very warm and mild throughout the year. Occasional cold snaps or very hot days do happen, but this is true for just about any destination. Visitors can expect an average of 75 to 80 degrees during the spring and fall months, with a slight variance for summer and winter. 

The weather in Myrtle Beach is one of the driving factors of its popularity. Warm weather, coupled with a soothing ocean breeze, makes all forms of entertainment more enjoyable.
