Wild Wing Golf Course Details

In the fall of 1993, Wild Wing introduced The Avocet, designed as a signature course by Larry Nelson and Jeff Brauer. The Avocet is a course where each hole is memorable for its enjoyment, aesthetics, and playability. The course encompasses 1,050 acres of natural beauty and splendor rarely found. A feeling of serenity exists where nature is seemingly undisturbed by the masterfully sculpted fairways which gently blend with the trees, waterways, and wildlife.

Wild Wing Plantation provides challenging golf in a unique setting; a setting which would appeal to all golfers, allowing them to play to, and within, their individual skill levels.

Course Reviews

Don't pass up this course

I played this course reluctantly after reading some reviews and seeing a rating somewhere below average on other sites.. While I haven't played all the courses on the Grand Strand, I have played 29 of the top rated courses. I can't tell you how impressed I was with this course. The greens were immaculate, rolled perfectly. Couldn't ask for more with the grooming to the fairways and rough. The staff was courteous, professional and prompt. The layout was interesting and fun. This course is on my top five list. We were riding on fairways soon after considerable rain. Don't pass it up.

cannot rate course since the day we were supposed to play, the weather (freezing rain) made it impossible. pro shop person (Rick) was nice enough to send rain checks to my home address so i wouldn't have to drive out and get them. will play next year.

This is a links style course, and it is a fun course to play with both risk and reward opportunities through out the course. This is our second time playing this course and I can tell you it is a course that you should not miss.

Our group really enjoyed playing this course. A good value course with very nice scenery and medium difficulty. I would play it again.

Disappointed

The greens had a lot of debris on them and the course was plain and not fun to play. Not worth the cost.

Best course of the week. Only wished they still had the other 3. Good pace of play, friendly, and excellent condition. I play here a lot in the winter. Still one of the better bangs for the buck on the strand.
